In Full Swing

It has been a very, very busy week for one ISM student. I have finally had my first two research interviews!! It was really exciting. The first interview I had was with a family friend, and I am so glad because me getting to interview her first was very relieving. I was comfortable with her so the conversation just flowed naturally and I learned so much about her job and the characteristics of being a corporate lawyer. She told me what few traits she deemed as the most important to have when wanting to be a corporate lawyer. She identified these traits as: being able to learn and grow, being able to multitask, managing expectations, and being good at reading and writing. She helped me put all of the research and prior knowledge I had gained before the interview into perspective. My second interview was great as well! She not only gave me a glimpse of what her job is like at a legal firm, but she gave me advice on my future endeavors before I go to college, and maybe law school. I have one more interview to do before I can pick my mentor. I am actually kind of sad that I only have one more interview left because they are such good practice for real world interviews and they help me develop my professional skills. I am finally feeling the excitement of ISM and I don't want it to end now!!
